Jean’s 100th Birthday Celebrations

Residents, staff and honoured guests at Roselea Court Care Home recently came together in a joyful celebration of an extraordinary milestone, the 100th birthday of cherished resident Jean Rossel. The occasion was filled with warm, laughter and heartfelt tributes to a woman whose century of life has touched and inspired so many.

Born on 11th February 1926, Jean has witnessed a hundred years of remarkable history and transformation. To mark this special day, she received a congratulatory card from Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, a treasured keepsake befitting such a rare achievement. The celebration was further elevated by the attendance of Rosemary Fraser, Lord Provost for Stirling, who presented Jean with a beautiful basket of flowers and shared warm wishes on behalf of the local community.

The event was lovingly organised by the dedicated team at Roselea Care Home, friends, fellow residents, and invited guests gathered to honour Jean's remarkable journey, creating an atmosphere of celebration that reflected the affection and admiration.

Reaching the age of 100 is a rare and wonderful accomplishment. Jean was born into a world almost unrecognisable compared to today's and has lived through historic world events, sweeping social change and astonishing technological advances. From the days of crackling radios and telephones fixed to walls to an era of instant global communication. Throughout her life, Jean has embraced independence, treasured friendships and the freedom to live life on her own terms.

Home Manager Helen Kinnaird shares: "They say age is just a number, in Jean's case, it's a very impressive number. She backs this up with the memories, lessons and moments that we all get to enjoy and benefit from. Her wisdom, kindness and stories make us laugh and think all at the same time. There has been so much joy in her life and to have her here in Roselea to share that with us is inspiring".
