Let’s Go Swimming
Roselea Court Care Home are proud to be supporting 'Active Stirling' and we took some of our residents to our local swimming pool.
Active Stirling is a charitable trust located in Stirling that focuses on sports, leisure, and community well-being. Their primary goal is to provide physical activity, sports, and health services to the local community.
Generations Active Together is an initiative driven by Active Stirling, in collaboration with Generations Working Together and Stirling Council. This intergenerational project aims to unite students from secondary schools with residents from care homes across Stirling.
The project's purpose is to dismantle barriers and preconceptions between teenagers and the elderly, foster leadership abilities in students, and encourage physical activity among older individuals. Ultimately, the program aims to bring different communities together.
This outing provoked lots of memories for our residents from when they used to go swimming when they were younger. One of our residents used to be a scuba diver and this trip to the pool reminded her of being in the sea and another one of Roselea Court's residents said she would love to go swimming every day! All of our residents loved getting into the water and having the opportunity to relax.
