Meet Baloo the Puppy

In 2023, through several discussions with the VIP's in Roselea Court Care Home, we had many requests to have a pet within our home.

This was eventually narrowed down to an agreement to have a small dog in the care home to support the residents. Our wellbeing team looked into how this would be managed to support our residents and enable a pet into our care home daily. One of our wellbeing coordinates decided that she would very much like to support this, and it would also give her company at home.

After further discussion, we agreed that she would purchase a puppy, and the puppy would be brought into work with her every day, meaning it would be a Roselea Court Dog.

The puppy was purchased and brought into the home this January 2024, the Roselea Court Dog is a French Bulldog (puppy) and the VIP's named him Baloo, because of his colour and build.

Our VIP's really enjoy what Baloo brings into our care home in Stirling, he is so loving and all of our residents have a really strong bond with him.

We thought this was an excellent idea as Baloo helps bring out an emotional wellbeing to our residents, provoking a great deal of discussion on past pets and fond memories. It's an absolute pleasure to see the smiles on their faces when they interact with him.
