Memorabilia Donated by Local Bowling Club
We are very pleased to have received some memorabilia donated by Livilands Bowling Club. The bowling club used to stand on the grounds where Roselea Court Care Home is now. The bowling club originally opened in 1910 in Livilands Gate before moving to Randolph Road in 1976 and closing its gates for good in 2019.
We have paid tribute to the bowling club by having our very own bowling green in our garden as well as a putting green. Our residents thoroughly enjoy playing a game of bowls when the sun is shining as a bit of friendly competition amongst fellow residents!
We are so grateful to receive this and we will set these pieces up in a display cabinet for all to enjoy when they are visiting to learn a bit about the history of our grounds.
Incorporating sports and outdoor games within our activities programme can provide numerous benefits for our residents. It helps to improve their physical health by promoting movement, agility, and strength as well as boosting their mood while also improving their cognitive function and memory.
It provides the opportunity for social interaction and friendly competition between residents of all ages and abilities and fosters a sense of community, which is a key value at Roselea Court.
