Margaret’s Dream Day Back on the Bowling Green!

At Roselea, we believe that life should be filled with special moments, no matter your age. That’s why we love planning ‘dream days’ for our residents, giving them the chance to relive happy memories, try something new, or simply spend time doing something they truly love. For Margaret, that meant one thing: carpet bowling.
Carpet bowling, an indoor version of lawn bowls, was a huge part of Margaret’s life. She and her late husband both played for their local teams, collecting medals along the way and making wonderful friendships over the years. When she told us how much she missed the game, we knew we had to make it happen.

With plenty of excitement (and a bit of careful planning), we arranged a special day for Margaret to return to the carpet bowling green, surrounded by her family. As soon as she stepped onto the green and took her first shot, it was like no time had passed—she still had her touch! Her family cheered her on, and the look on her face said it all.
Of course, no bowling day would be complete without Margaret’s favourite post-match treat, a corned beef sandwich and a cuppa, just like she used to have at the café next door. Sitting back and reminiscing over lunch, she told us she’d had “a wonderful day” and loved being back in action.

At Roselea, we know how important it is to keep hold of the things that make us happy, no matter our age. That’s why we go the extra mile to bring joy to our residents’ lives, whether it’s organising a dream day, celebrating their achievements, or simply sharing a good chat over a cup of tea. Margaret’s special day was a reminder of just how much these moments mean, and we were so proud to be part of it.
