Roselea Court Brings Back the “Saturday Night Social” for Residents

At Roselea Court Care Home, reminiscing about the "good old days" recently led to a delightful new tradition - the "Saturday Night Social Evening." Inspired by residents' fond memories of Saturday nights out at the local pub or dance hall, the care home staff recreated that lively social atmosphere right within its walls.

Turning Back Time

"We were chatting with some of our VIPs (Very Important People, as we call our residents) and they were reminiscing about their younger days," shared Helen, the Home Manager. "Saturday nights used to be their time to go out and socialise, and they missed that sense of community and fun."

Eager to honour these cherished memories, the team at Roselea Court decided to bring the party to the residents. Every Saturday night, each unit transforms into a mini social hub, complete with drinks, savoury snacks, lively music, and plenty of opportunities for conversation and laughter.

Benefits Beyond the Dance Floor

The Saturday Night Social Evenings have been a resounding success. "Our VIPs absolutely love it!" Helen beamed. "It's not just about the music and snacks; it's about the camaraderie and the chance to connect with each other in a different way."

The events have created a sense of belonging and togetherness, sparking conversations about shared experiences and memories from the past. Residents have reconnected with old friends and made new ones, strengthening the vibrant community within Roselea Court.

A Commitment to Person-Centered Care

The Saturday Night Social Evenings perfectly embody Roselea Court's person-centred approach to care. By listening to residents' desires and tailoring activities to their interests, the care home team ensures a fulfilling and meaningful lifestyle for all. The overwhelmingly positive response from residents has solidified the Saturday Night Social as a beloved tradition at Roselea Court.
